Peoplesound team up with Hip Hop legend
Rapstation, one of the world's leading Hip Hop portals, have joined forces with peoplesound to provide unprecedented access to underground American Hip Hop. The exciting deal will result in peoplesound becoming the exclusive European distributor of Rapstation's 5000-plus artists.
Rapstation was co-founded by Chuck D, the guiding force behind the legendary Public Enemy - one of the most influential Hip Hop acts of all time - and a high-profile voice on issues surrounding the future of digital music distribution.
The site has quickly established itself as a leading presence in the ever-burgeoning world of Hip Hop culture online. Featuring an extensive catalogue of underground acts, users can access exclusive material from the likes of Eminem, Redman and DMX as well as read news, features and reviews.
The deal is being heralded by both companies as a major step forward in their quest to bring the best in underground music to a mass audience. Rapstaion co-founder Lathan Hodge stated: "peoplesound will assist our Rapstation artist community to get their music promoted on a global basis, thereby increasing the opportunity for Rapstation artists to generate revenues from the sale of their music to an entirely new audience."
Chuck D has gone on record saying that he is working to make Rapstation the very best digital promotion platform for independent Rap and Hip Hop artists, and as such is very proud of this new association with peoplesound.
Matthew Joy, Head of A&R at peoplesound, added: "We are very excited about being able to bring the best of underground Hip Hop from the US into Europe. Chuck D and his team have broken new ground in using the web to get the Hip-Hop message around the world and we are looking forward to combining forces to create the world's largest Hip Hop community."
